Brass Ensemble

The Brass Ensemble is suitable for all brass players. A wide variety of music is played, with plenty of opportunity to play with the whole range of brass instruments.

Concert Orchestra

The Youth Orchestra combines all sections of the orchestra to play orchestral music. This orchestra is for less experienced players.

Double Reeds

Double reeds are oboes, cor anglais and bassoons. This ensemble gives players of these instruments a rare opportunity to meet others who play the same instruments, and share technique and a fascinating ensemble repertoire.

Intermediate Strings

Intermediate Strings is a string orchestra for younger players with limited experience. Music is arranged to suit individual standards. This orchestra provides a good introduction to playing in a group. The emphasis is on developing technique and expanding repertoire to increase confidence in developing players.

Junior Classical Guitars

This group is for beginners and less experienced players of the classical acoustic guitar. The group plays a varied repertoire of arrangements and music specially written for the instrument.

North Devon Strings

This is an experienced group which plays the repertoire of the string orchestra - Vivaldi, Corelli, J.S.Bach, Mozart, Pachelbel, Peter Warlock.

North Devon Youth Orchestra

The Youth Orchestra combines all sections of the orchestra to play orchestral music. The orchestra plays a wide range of romantic, classical and baroque music. It only rehearses in the Summer term.

Senior Clarinet Choir

The Senior Clarinet Choir consists of about 15 young musicians playing all sizes of clarinets from E flat to contra-bass. The more unusual instruments are provided by the Music Centre.

The repertoire is a wide range of classical, jazz and light music, much of it specially arranged for clarinet choir.

This group is for experienced players of the classical acoustic guitar. The group plays a varied repertoire of arrangements and music specially written for the instrument.

Senior Flute Choir

The Senior Flute Choir gives flautists the opportunity to play rare and valuable bass and alto flutes, and encourages the playing of the piccolo. Flute choirs have some beautiful music written and arranged for them.

Senior Windband

The Senior Windband is for more experienced wind and brass players. The music is varied with lots of popular pieces that you will know.

String Training Orchestra

This group provides an opportunity for complete beginners and inexperienced string players to develop their skills by playing together.
