Brass Ensemble
|

The Brass Ensemble is suitable for all brass players. A wide variety of music is played, with plenty of opportunity to play with the whole range of brass instruments.

Clarinet Choir
|
|
|
The Clarinet Choir consists of about 15 young musicians playing all sizes of clarinets from E flat to contra-bass. The more unusual instruments are provided by the Music Centre.
The repertoire is a wide range of classical, jazz and light music, much of it specially arranged for clarinet choir.

suitable for more experienced players of grades 4 to 8. Previous experience with the larger instruments is not necessary.

The Concert String Orchestra gives an opportunity for all string players to play orchestral music. It is for moderately experienced players. This orchestra rehearses in the Autumn and Spring terms - in the Summer term it foms the basis of the Youth Orchestra, which is for all orchestral instruments.

The Flute Choir gives flautists the opportunity to play rare and valuable bass and alto flutes, and encourages the playing of the piccolo. Flute choirs have some beautiful music written and arranged for them.

Intermediate Strings

Intermediate Strings is a string orchestra for younger players with limited experience. Music is arranged to suit individual standards. This orchestra provides a good introduction to playing in a group. The emphasis is on developing technique and expanding repertoire to increase confidence in developing players.

The Youth Orchestra combines all sections of the orchestra to play orchestral music. The orchestra plays a wide range of romantic, classical and baroque music. It only rehearses in the Summer term.
