Welcome to the North Devon Music Centre, particularly new members and the Next Steps Orchestra, Lynne Unsworth and Suzanne Hynes.
Newsletters keep you in touch with news and events at music centre. Please read carefully, so you know what is happening. Please return registration forms and fees, if you haven't already done so.
If you are eligible for free school meals or receive some other benefits, you will be able to apply for a free place at music centre! Please see Alicia, or email ndmc@btinterrnet.com for full details and an application form.
Fremington Parish Church Concert Saturday 26th November, 7pm
Tickets are now available at music centre, £5 and £3 (children and grandparents!).
Rehearsals
Attendance at the rehearsal is essential. Please arrive at the church 15 minutes before your rehearsal time.

Concert Order
All performers should return to the Church by 6.45pm. First half order: Intermediate Strings, Concert Strings, Brass Ensemble, Flute Choir, and Clarinet Choir. Second half order: String Training Orchestra, North Devon Strings, Next Steps Orchestra, and Wind Band.
Concert dress
Smart black and white, please, with festive touches (see your group director!)
North Devon Strings will be giving a special Carols by Candlelight concert at Fremington Church on Wednesday, 21st December at 7.00pm. Tickets cost £6 and £3, with proceeds supporting the Music Centre and Fremington Parish Church.
Music centre starts next term on Wednesday January 11th.

Summer concert at Kingsley School Theatre, Northdown Road, Bideford; Sunday July 10th at 3pm.
Rehearsal schedule (attendance is essential!) - Please maintain silence during rehearsals.

Dress: All performers - bright, smart summer clothes, no jeans or trainers.
Admission - £4 for adults, £2 for senior citizens and children. Tickets are available at Music Centre and at rehearsals on 10th July - please buy in advance to avoid long queues before the concert.
The interval will be at about 4pm. Please could we ask you to bring some food (snacks, sandwiches, cakes, savouries etc) to share - thank you in advance, this is a popular part of the afternoon!! If you are able to help with serving teas, can you let Georgina know (01271 314870)?
Music Centre AGM will be on 29th June, 5pm at Park School.
Autumn term starts on Wednesday 14th September

Newsletters keep you in touch with news and events at music centre. Please read carefully, so you know what is happening.

The North Devon Music Centre is a registered charity, governed by the Friends of North Devon Youth Music. We are looking for new members of the friends committee, to help direct and guide the music centre. The commitment is 3-4 meetings a year, and to take an active interest in the Centre, whether as a parent or a 'friend'. Please contact me if you feel able to help.

This term's concert is on Thursday 31st March at the Queens Theatre Barnstaple at 7pm. I hope you agree that the experience of performing in a professional theatre is worthwhile. Tickets are now available from the box office, 01271 324242.

Rehearsal on 31st March. Attendance at the rehearsal is essential. Students will be supervised by chaperones backstage. Access to the backstage area is restricted to students and chaperones only. Please arrive at the theatre 15 minutes before your rehearsal time. Registers will be taken by chaperones on arrival at the stage door, as you leave after the rehearsal, and when you arrive for the concert. No food is to be taken into the dressing rooms, which must be kept clean and tidy at all times. Musical instruments may be left in dressing rooms, but remain the responsibility of the student. After the rehearsal parents are responsible for their children.

Concert Schedule. All performers should return to the theatre before 6.45pm. If you are playing in the first half of the concert (String Training orchestra, Brass Ensemble, Junior Classical Guitar Ensemble, Flute Choir, Barnstaple Learning Community Group) please go straight to your dressing room where the chaperones will direct you to the auditorium when it is time for your performance. If you are playing in the second half (Intermediate strings, Concert Strings, Senior Classical Guitar ensemble, Clarinet Choir, North Devon Strings, Wind Band) leave your instruments in the dressing room, then take your seats in the first 3 rows of the stalls (rows A-C). Return to your dressing room during the interval, with your chaperone. Chaperones.
